About the Documentary

Culture on the Runway: The Documentary is a visual exploration of African identity, expression, and creativity in contemporary fashion spaces. Through in-depth interviews, behind-the-scenes footage, and runway moments, the film documents how young creators reclaim culture through fabric, design and storytelling.

We follow designers, models and makers as they translate memory and meaning into garments — investigating the politics of dress, craft and representation. The documentary is part archival study, part portrait series and part celebration: an attempt to capture the ways clothing and ceremony become tools for cultural continuity and innovation.
